Pain Neutralization Therapy (PNT)

Pain Neutralization Technique is the lifetime work of Dr. Steven Kaufman, D.C., LAc. from Denver, Colorado (www.painneutralization.com).

PNT is a non-invasive technique.  Client is fully dressed or can be combined with a massage to neutralize tender areas.  PNT is based on a carefully chosen series of gentle maneuvers of the body's exterior soft tissues, which can literally "turn off" nerve based reflexes that perpetuate trigger points and muscle pain, and is proving to be particularly effective in the treatment of chronic pain. There are no known adverse effects.

PNT does not use mechanical force for treatment, and is somewhat different from other trigger point therapies which usually involve some amount of pain like deep tissue massage.  Light pressure with the finger tips is used.  There is little to no discomfort in this procedure other than finding those tender areas.

PNT can be therapeutic for:

  • neck and shoulder pain
  • low back pain
  • headaches
  • migraines
  • sciatica
  • Illeotibial band pain
  • knee pain
  • cervical and lumbar disc pain
  • tennis elbow
  • muscular pain from sports injuries
  • muscle stiffness, aches and pains
  • hip, pelvis and leg discomfort
